Print the photographic exhibition "The Coven"

Hi, my name is Renee Mutch, and I am a Beaumont, Alberta based portrait photographer. In 2022, I started photographing a portrait series called "The Coven" with a few friends as part of a Call for Entries from the Alberta Society of Artists, based in Calgary, Alberta. The image I have shared as the main image for this GoFundMe was selected to be on display at the Calgary Gallery, and I was absolutely hooked!

In 2023, I expanded into a full 19 image series, and worked closely with a select group of witches and spiritual practitioners to tell their stories and how they related to their path in witchcraft. The series captured images of practitioners from Red Deer to Bonnyville, across age ranges, backgrounds, and across all walks of life.

We have been accepted to exhibit in October 2024 at the Leduc Arts Foundry, as well as being put on display in collaboration with Beck Antiques at West Edmonton Mall in September 2024! While I am absolutely ecstatic with this series of events, I recognize that the only ouece that has been printed is our original piece, titled "The Call of Artemis".

Cost breakdown for you all:
18 canvases, 18x24 - $155 each, or $2790 total,
Business license to be able to sell the prints at the Leduc Arts Foundry - issued after August 31 - $162,
The remaining $348 will be used to cover transportation to and from the galleries, as well as framing costs, since my dad is helping me build the frames.

Every little but counts!

Each canvas will be 18" x 24" and mounted with picture wire in the back. I am hoping to have them printed at an Edmonton based, professional printing lab.

I have applied for multiple grants, and unfortunately, I have been denied on all fronts. As the deadline looms closer, I am anxious that I won't be able to afford to have these printed in time.

The birch poles have been sourced from my Uncle and Aunt's gravel pit, near Mclennan, Alberta, and are currently sitting in my Mom and Dad's garage. Once the images have been printed, my Dad and I will make the frames in his woodshop, out in St. Albert, Alberta.

This has been an absolute joy of a project to work on, where I was able to meet and connect with such amazing individuals. Everyone involved, weather they were in front of the camera or cheering me along on a midnight editing session, have been absolutely fantastic. Thank you to everyone who has participated in any way, shape or form so far.
