PRINT AND DISTRIBUTE FAMILY VIOLENCE AWARENESS POSTERS

FAMILY VIOLENCE NEVER TAKES A HOLIDAY - IT’S THE MOST DANGEROUS TIME OF THE YEAR FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN AUSTRALIA.

AGAIN.

I'm attempting to raise $2,750 in 6 days to get this awareness campaign distributed across Naarm (Melbourne).

3 POSTERS - 3 MESSAGES - 3 SERVICE NUMBERS

Last year I independently created this campaign to raise awareness around family violence.

This year I'm calling on the community to help fund and distribute this campaign, as the title suggests, it's the most dangerous time of the year for women and children in Australia with a 33% increase of family violence cases on Christmas Day alone...and, I don't think a survivor advocate should have to front the entire bill.

This is a mens issues. Yes all men. While you're not all violent, you can all do something to change the trajectory of violence against women and children.

FINANCIAL ABUSE NEVER TAKES A BREAK.
COERCIVE CONTROL DOESN'T TAKE TIME OFF.
FAMILY VIOLENCE NEVER TAKES A HOLIDAY.

ANY amount is appreciated to get the message out there.

The above image is from last year. God this is a lot of writing, sorry stay with me, I'll be redesigning the posters so that the numbers are more legible. Don't worry.

WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?

Your contribution will go to printing and distributing the three campaign posters through a local business. These three posters are created to raise awareness on common types of abuse; physical, financial and coercive control and the services available to anyone who may be impacted, including the perpetrator.

  • $500 = ONE design x 55 posters printed and distributed around Melbourne
  • $1000 = TWO designs x 55 posters printed and distributed around Melbourne
  • $1500 = THREE designs x 55 printed and distributed around Melbourne
  • $2200 = ALL THREE designs x 60 printed and distributed around Melbourne
  • $2500 + = More printing and direct funds to Djirra

Any leftover money will go to Djirra, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation who are committed to a future without family violence.

$2,500 in 6 days.
One poster is better than no poster.
If it helps one person escape family and domestic violence, that's enough.

*Created by a Survivor Advocate frustrated with the Government’s failure to address this national crisis. If these posters disturb you, it may not be the message, but the harsh reality it confronts.

I acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women experience disproportionate rates of violence. It is important to note that most violence against Aboriginal women is perpetrated by non-Aboriginal people.
