Princess Valentine needs our help!

Valentine is a cat, and a very fancy one at that! Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting this angelic little beast knows that she’s the life of every party. Whether she’s claimed your lap as her throne, or whether she’s squeaking up a storm with her tiny little voice, what she lacks in height she more than makes up for in personality and flufffiness! She’s a princess and she knows it, even having a royal entrance song in the form of “My Funny Valentine.” Whenever her owner/mother Wendy sings or even hums this crooner tune, little Princess Tina will appear from wherever she’s ensconced, hurrying dutifully to Wendy’s side.

Anyone who knows Wendy Warshawsky is ludicrously lucky. Wendy is about the greatest friend any human or cat could have! She’s infallibly thoughtful, incredibly kind, fiercely loyal, effervescently funny, and a spectacular chef! For those of us who love her, we are rewarded handsomely in kind with lifelong friendship and delicious vegan food.

Wendy Warshawsky is self-employed, and as with every small business owner, the last several years since the COVID-19 pandemic began have been enormously financially, physically, and mentally stressful for her. Add that to costly personal medical expenses, and Wendy’s been stretched pastry thin for quite a while.

Last week, Wendy received the devastating news that Princess Valentine, her beloved companion kitty and best friend, was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. Luckily, Wendy took swift action as soon as she noticed a lump, and Tina’s prognosis is really good! Tina is otherwise in great health. Her quality of life is high, she’s been gaining weight and energy on a prescription diet, and she has all the love and snuggles any cat could want. There is absolutely no reason she shouldn’t continue to live a long and happy life after treatment, and she needs our help to get there!

On March 15, Tina underwent a full chain mastectomy to remove the cancerous growth. Next step is four rounds of chemotherapy, then it’s on to rest and recovery with the best and hardest working nurse in the world. All of this is costly— credit limit maxing out costly. The full treatment plan totals $9500, not to mention diagnostics, work loss, emotional stress, etc.

Together, it’s time for we who love Wendy to show up the way we know she would and always does for us! Anything you can give will go directly to Tina’s care and recovery. Times are tough for us all, so please spread this as far and as wide as you can, even if a financial gift isn’t feasible for you right now.

Thank you for reading, and please keep Valentine and Wendy in your hearts and thoughts!
