Help Us Build & Expand Princess Peach's Allergy-Safe Outdoor Kingdom!
After nearly seven years inside a laboratory breeding facility, Princess Peach finally has a family, a home, and people who love her. Now we're fighting to give her something every dog deserves: the freedom to safely enjoy the outdoors.
My name is Kim-Anne Dodd, and I'm the proud mama of Princess Peach Hope Grace Dodd, a former Ridglan laboratory beagle whose story has touched hearts around the world.
Today, I'm asking for your help with something incredibly special.
We're building Peach her very own outdoor kingdom. And this time, we're building it with our own hands.
But before I explain what we've been doing, I want you to understand why something as simple as having a backyard means so much to our little girl.
Almost Seven Years Without the Outside World
For almost seven years, Peach lived inside a research breeding facility.
She wasn't known as Princess Peach.
She was identified by tattoos.
CTU9 in her ear.
WIAE on her belly.
She didn't have a backyard. She didn't get to explore the neighborhood, roll in the grass, or spend a lazy afternoon lying in the sunshine.
On May 2, 2026, Peach finally saw sunshine.
On June 6, 2026, we brought her home.
That was the first day her little paws touched grass.
Imagine spending almost seven years without experiencing something as ordinary as grass beneath your feet.
And then imagine finally discovering that beautiful new world, only to have it taken away again.
Because within weeks of bringing Peach home, we learned that the very environment she had waited almost seven years to experience was making her terribly sick.
When the Outside World Becomes Something You Can't Safely Enjoy
When people hear that Peach has allergies, I understand what they're probably thinking.
Lots of dogs have allergies.
They itch. They lick their paws. They take medication, change their diets, and continue living relatively normal lives.
But Peach's situation has been anything but ordinary.
Our little girl has endured severe environmental allergies, painfully swollen and inflamed paws, and recurring bacterial skin infections requiring extensive veterinary treatment.
There have been times when her feet were so swollen and painful that simply walking comfortably was difficult.
Extensive testing revealed reactions to numerous environmental allergens, including grasses, trees, pollens, and other substances that are incredibly difficult to avoid here in Florida.
We've spent months working with her veterinary team, treating infections, managing inflammation, adjusting medications, and pursuing immunotherapy.
Thankfully, her previous bacterial paw infections have now cleared, but her environmental allergies remain a serious concern.
And while we continue working toward giving Peach a healthier, more comfortable life, she still cannot enjoy a normal grassy backyard.
I carry her between our home and the car to help protect her paws from exposure.
But perhaps the hardest part isn't carrying her.
It's watching her look outside.
Sometimes Peach stands at the window, looking through the glass at the world beyond it.
Her little tail starts wagging.
She wants to go out.
She wants to explore.
She wants to be a dog.
And she doesn't understand why Mama can't just open the door.
She doesn't understand allergies, immunotherapy, or why the grass can make her sick.
She only knows that after nearly seven years behind laboratory walls, somebody finally opened the door to the world.
And now, once again, there are places she cannot go.
I cannot change the first seven years of Peach's life. But I am determined to make the years she has left as beautiful as possible.
A Kingdom Built by the People Who Love Her
When we first started exploring ways to create an outdoor space specifically designed around Peach's medical limitations, we looked into having a professional company install an area with synthetic turf.
The estimates were more than $10,000.
And as much as we wanted to give Peach everything she deserves, that was an enormous expense, especially after everything we've already invested in her medical care.
So my husband Jason and I made a decision.
We weren't going to wait for someone else to build Peach's kingdom.
We were going to build it ourselves.
And this past weekend, that's exactly what we started doing!
With the help of our family, we've been outside working, building, figuring things out, and putting our own blood, sweat, and love into creating something that means more to us than I can possibly explain.
Every bit of work has one purpose.
Giving Peach a place where she can finally enjoy being outside without walking directly through the natural grasses and vegetation that trigger her allergies.
And seeing her little kingdom begin to take shape has been incredibly emotional.
Because this isn't just a construction project.
It's a promise to a little beagle who spent nearly seven years waiting for her life to begin.
️ We've Started Building, But We Need Your Help to Make It Bigger!
We've made a start, and we're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together.
But the area we're currently building is small.
Too small for everything we're dreaming of giving Peach.
We want to extend it so she has more room to wander, sniff, explore, play, and simply enjoy being outside.
We've decided to continue doing the work ourselves rather than paying a professional company thousands of dollars in labor.
What we need now is help purchasing the actual building materials.
Donations will help us purchase:
- Quick-setting concrete needed for construction and expansion.
- Additional materials to extend her outdoor kingdom.
- Supplies needed to build and secure the expanded space.
- Materials and surface improvements to help minimize her contact with natural grass and vegetation.
- Other necessary construction supplies as we continue the project.
We're providing the labor ourselves, with the help of our family, and stretching every dollar as far as possible.
We're not asking anyone to pay for a $10,000-plus professional installation.
We're asking for help buying the materials so we can keep building the dream we've already started.
And I wish I could explain what it feels like to be out there working, knowing exactly who all of this is for.
Our little girl.
Our Princess.
The beagle who spent almost seven years without any say in how she lived.
All the Ordinary Things We've Been Dreaming Of
I don't need Peach to have the fanciest backyard in the neighborhood.
I don't need beautiful landscaping or an elaborate outdoor retreat.
I just want to open our back door someday and watch Peach walk outside on her own four paws.
I want to see her stand in the sunshine.
I want to watch that little beagle nose point straight into the air as she takes in all those wonderful smells.
I want her to wander around without being afraid.
I want to watch her investigate every corner of a space that belongs to her.
I want her to find the perfect place to lie down.
I want to watch her play.
I want her to decide when she's finished exploring and ready to come back inside.
I want her to have choices.
Because for nearly seven years, choices were something Peach didn't have.
And despite everything she's endured, this beautiful little soul has fallen absolutely in love with being alive.
She's become our dojo dog, coming to our martial arts academy with Mama and Daddy.
She celebrates Taco Tuesdays.
She travels in her Royal Carriage.
She's discovering toys, blankets, couches, other dogs, and all the wonderful things that make life special.
She's learning that hands can be gentle.
That people can be kind.
That food will always come again.
That she will never have to earn love.
That she has a mama and daddy who will do absolutely anything for her.
She's learning that she belongs.
And I desperately want her to experience the simple joy of being outside without her body paying the price afterward.
This Is More Than a Backyard
Some people might look at this project and see concrete, building supplies, and an outdoor enclosure.
But when I look at it, I see something entirely different.
I see a little beagle who survived almost seven years in a breeding facility.
I see a dog who spent so much of her life without experiencing sunshine, grass, or the freedom to explore.
I see a dog who finally came home, only to face medical challenges that once again limited her world.
And I see a family that refuses to give up on giving her the life she deserves.
No, we cannot make every allergen disappear. We know her medical needs will always require careful management, and we'll continue following her veterinary team's guidance.
But we can work toward creating a more accessible outdoor environment designed around those needs.
We can give her a better opportunity to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and the simple pleasures other dogs experience every day.
And we can do it together.
One bag of concrete. One building supply. One weekend of work. One loving hand at a time.
Will You Help Us Finish Princess Peach's Kingdom?
If you're able to make a donation, no matter how small, please know how much it means to our family.
Your contribution will go toward purchasing the materials we need to continue expanding the space we've already begun building.
If you aren't able to donate, sharing Peach's fundraiser would mean the world to us, too.
Every donation helps.
Every share matters.
And every person who helps spread Peach's story becomes part of something beautiful.
Because one day, when this project is finished, I want to sit outside and watch Princess Peach enjoying her very own little kingdom.
I want to see her tail wagging.
I want to see her nose twitching.
I want to see her lying peacefully in the sunshine.
And I want to know that after everything she survived, we were able to give her one more piece of the life she should have had all along.
Peach spent almost seven years belonging to a laboratory.
Now she has a name.
She has a family.
She has a home.
And with your help, we're going to give her a little piece of the outside world that belongs to her, too.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving our Princess and helping us build her happily ever after.
With love and gratitude,
Kim-Anne, Jason & Princess Peach Hope Grace Dodd
