Prince's Bloat Surgery
On Friday late evening Prince was rushed to the emergency vet. He was trying to vomit a few times but nothing was coming out and his stomach was swollen. My worse nightmare came true, Prince went into bloat (gastric dilatation volvulus). For those of you who don't know, it's a life threatening condition that can develop in some dogs that causes the stomach to rapidly fill with gas and/or fluid and then flip upon itself. The vet said that I caught it early so none of his stomach tissue was dead yet but his stomach had already twisted. The only way to save his life was to rush him into surgery in order to untwist his stomach and sew it to the inside of his body wall.
Unfortunately this surgery costs between $8,000-$9,000+. I've never been the one to ask for help, and it pains me to ask for it, but in this situation I really do need it. Things are extremely tight financially and I needed to max out my credit cards and use everything I had in order to afford his surgery to save his life.
Prince means the world to me and I count my lucky stars that I was able to catch it early and rush him to the vet before it was too late. I'm beyond grateful that he is home now and recovering slowly. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who is willing to help me and my boy, whether that be a donation, sharing this post or even sending positive thoughts/prayers.
