To the Prince Coffee Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I open up a GoFundMe today.
This is not for myself, but for my 9 employees that I care so much about:
Grace, Melanie, Drew, Joe, David, Kyle, Brett, Jordan and Michael
Two weeks ago, I closed down cafe operations at Prince and laid off all of my employees. I laid them off so that they could collect unemployment insurance and survive this dark time. They are all guaranteed their jobs back when Prince can re open, of course. However no one knows how long the effects of this crisis will last. The bad news is that the system isn’t working. The unemployment office has understandably had a surge in applications, they are overwhelmed. At this point, my employees don’t even know if they have qualified for unemployment and no one has received a check. They are facing serious financial need as rent, mortgage, and healthcare payments loom and daily life needs rise.
I’m asking you as an extended part of the Prince Family to please help if you are able. If everyone gave a few dollars, we can practically and effectively help the Prince staff stay afloat. As a patron, you know how kind and warm these people are.
This crisis has come into every one of our homes. No one is unaffected. I choose to believe in the power of community and the resilience of Prince Coffee Family. If you are able to, please consider donating today.
