Donate to Pril's Double Knee Surgery

Hi, I'm Pril, a 6-year old rescue dog from South Korea, and I have been living with my loving family in Canada for 3 years. I am an extremely gentle dog who loves to work as a therapy pet for other dogs that my family fosters.

In December of 2022, my family noticed that I was experiencing some difficulty with my hind legs. I started limping, and the pain became increasingly unbearable over time. After seeing multiple vet specialists, and getting second and third opinions, it has been determined that I had a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture in my right hind leg. While waiting on a surgical consult, 3 weeks ago, my left knee also collapsed from bearing the extra weight. I now have a CCL rupture in both of my rear legs with an extremely painful meniscal tear in my left rear knee joint as well. I now require a "must have" double TPLO knee surgery - conservative management is no longer an option. This is the only way I will ever be able to walk, run, and play again.

This surgery is going to be extremely costly for my family. They are facing not only the cost of the surgery itself, but all of the extra costs like medications, follow-up appointments, travel expenses to and from the surgical hospital in Toronto (3-hour drive each way), overnight stays when required, and pet care for my brother when my parents are traveling to surgical visits with me. These expenses don't even include my long recovery and rehabilitation process, such as radiographs, CT scans, bloodwork, support equipment, physiotherapy, and post-surgery complications.

Despite the challenges ahead, I have a 90% chance of recovery, with a 98% chance of full mobility in my hind legs again. I want nothing more than to be able to return to my work as a therapy pet and spend time with my furry friends.

The only way for me to have this surgery is through donations, even if you can only spare a small amount, every dollar counts. The anticipated cost of everything is over $30,000, which is a significant financial burden for my family. If any funds are left over, my family has vowed to donate the remaining amount directly to animal rescue organizations in need.
