Prevent Prickles Hedgehog Rescue, Cheddar from closing.
Donation protected
Hi my name is Jules, I am the Founder of Prickles Hedgehog Rescue in Cheddar. Prickles has been rescuing and caring for injured, poorly and orphaned hedgehogs for 18 years. We have rescued over 8,000 so far, this has significantly helped the chances of the species survival which as many of you will know are Legally Protected due to their decline.
The Charity is facing closure as the building where our Charity Shop is located has been sold, and we have seen a significant increase in our overall running costs including utility bills, vets bills, food for the animals and rental for our premises. Our costs were £107k last year.
Our care of the animals is exemplary and leads to a high success rate of recovery and return to the wild.
Prickles also means so much to the staff and volunteers that support the Charity as well as the wider Community. Many of our volunteers are students on work placements, Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme participants, young people with learning needs and a committed group of adults from the Community.
We work closely with the University of Bristol's Veterinary School and we are often involved in research projects and studies to support the conservation of the hedgehog species.
Donations will help us continue with the fantastic work the charity does and allow us concentrate on the long term future of Prickles Hedgehog Rescue
We would appreciate anything you are able to give it would be devastating if the charity had to close
PLEASE HELP US TO HELP THEM
