In the mid-2000s, after holding various job positions and working endless hours, my parents fulfilled their American dream of purchasing a single-family house. I will never forget the first steps we took into our beloved home on 123 H. Ave. — the smell of fresh paint, new wooden floors, and the imminent thought of having our own bedrooms. Throughout time, my parents cultivated their home into a comforting, aroma-filled, bright space with hints of Mexican art pieces.
On July 22, 2021, around 8:30pm, an electrical fire sparked in our home. Within minutes, our house burned*. While we are all safe (the dogs, too), we lost *everything* we owned. Frankly, this particular loss is more significant than we ever fathomed. To my spiritual friends, please feel free to pray/think of us. For those interested in financially supporting us on immediate expenses, such as clothes and water, I thank you all in advanced for the love.
*UPDATE: As of July 24, 2021, the house is unlivable and it will be demolished later this summer.
