Preventive Screenings Catch Pregnancy Hypertension

Tax deductible
Want to help mothers and their unborns live beyond pregnancy? I'm raising money to benefit Synergy Saturday, Inc.; any donation will help directly impact the lives of pregnant women and their unborn babies in our communities. Thanks in advance for contributing to this communal cause that screens mothers for high blood pressure and other chronic disorders weekly and refers adverse cases to their Primary Care Physician, OBGYN, or hospital. Also, mothers get our Know Your Numbers app for free! It means so much to me, especially since the recent passing of my own mother and family matriarch.

Problem:
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) remain one of the major causes of pregnancy-related maternal and fetal morbidity (having the diseases) and mortality (death from the diseases) worldwide. These hypertensive disorders are on the rise in the United States. Unfortunately, these disorders get diagnosed late at delivery or remain undiagnosed altogether. If the diseases are undiagnosed, then they're untreated. Gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, and eclampsia can often be prevented and best controlled by physicians, especially if caught early through the simple monitoring of blood pressure measurements at every prenatal visit.

"The prevalence of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy was 20.9% among Black women, 16.4% among American Indian and Alaska Native women, 14.7% among White women, 12.5% among Hispanic women, and 9.3% among Asian or Pacific Islander women."1

"In this day and age, we like to think racial disparities are a thing of the past, but unfortunately, that is far from the case concerning healthcare for expectant moms.

Arkansas not only has the third highest maternal death rate in the nation, 71 percent of those moms are black women. These are women who will die before the car ride home from the hospital. These are moms whose health complications will jeopardize themselves and their babies."4

Solution:
Mothers need an accessible, convenient, and safe place to screen weekly for free for high blood pressure and other disorders. Synergy Saturday is the solution. Our organization screens and refers Mothers with consecutive adverse readings to their PCP, OBGYN, or care team for proper and timely life-saving treatment.

Are you looking for a reliable and effective solution for early detection and prevention of diseases? Look no further than Synergy Saturday!
