Greetings. My name is Kenneth Camp, I am a 75-year-old Air Force veteran and I very much regret having to resort to this, but I am in a very bad financial situation since the passing of my wife last October and the situation grows worse every day. The situation is that I am behind in real estate and school taxes to the tune of $28,000 +/- and I cannot either pay the balance or establish a payment plan by the end of July or at least by the end of September, my house will be auctioned off on the 8th of October. The amount I need for a downpayment by the end of July is $7,033.00 and the monthly payments would be $976.10. Keep in mind, I am 75 years old, and my sole income is from Social Security and that is only $1,957.00 per month. And I also have other bills to try my hardest to pay and keep on top of. Prior to my wife’s death, we had been able to meet the challenge of the back taxes for the past 16 years because there was also her Social Security coming in and together, we were able to stay up with everything. Now, I don’t have the income to meet the challenge. I have family that has promised to help, but I fear it might be too little too late. I am by no means asking that you or anyone else bear this burden for me, nut merely asking that you help me in any way you can, so I can meet the requirements and not lose my home. Not only would I be out of the home, so would my stepfamily who lives here as well. Those being my stepdaughter, her husband, 3 children and a stepson. None of us are in a position financially to be able to find a place to live nor afford to move. Agencies I have asked help from have either ignored me or told me to get a loan to help. Well, that would defeat the purpose I would think. I humbly ask that you help in any way you can as it doesn’t seem any of the agencies care to help a Veteran.
