A Mother’s Story: Fighting to Keep a Safe Home for My Boys

My name is Lizetta, and I’m a single mother of three little boys who mean everything to me. Two of them are fighting battles no child should have to face, and every day I wake up determined to be their strength—no matter how heavy life gets.

But right now… we’re at a breaking point.

For months, I’ve tried to hold everything together alone. I’ve cried quietly in the bathroom so my kids won’t see. I’ve stayed up late filling out applications for help, only to be denied again and again. I’ve prayed for strength. And I’ve pushed through every obstacle because my kids need me.

But today, I am facing something I cannot push through alone.

We are facing eviction, and I’m desperately trying to raise $3,000 to keep a safe, stable home for my boys.

My Children’s Health Battles

My 8-year-old son has been through more than most adults:
• A heart condition
• Severe asthma
• Dangerous allergies
• Vision problems that make learning difficult

Even with all of that, he still manages to smile and tell me he loves me every single day. He’s my brave little warrior.

My 2-year-old was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, and watching him have seizures has been one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I hold him through every episode, praying for it to stop, praying for answers, praying for strength.

And through all of this, I’m doing everything alone.
No child support. No family help.
Just me.

⸻

How the Funds Will Be Used

I want to be clear and transparent:
• $2,000 – to stop the eviction and pay past-due rent
• $300 – to keep our lights on
• $700 – to get my car out of repossession so I can take my kids to their doctors, therapies, and emergency visits — and so I can get to work

I just started back working in October after being out of work for 4 months due to my kids’ medical emergencies. I only receive food stamps and Medicaid, and despite applying for disability almost a year ago, we’re still waiting with no help.

⸻

Why I’m Asking for Help

I have tried everything — I’ve knocked on every door, applied for every program, and stayed strong even when I felt like breaking. But today I am humbly asking for help because my kids deserve stability, safety, and a home where they can heal and grow.

Anything helps — whether it’s donating or sharing our story.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping me fight for my boys.

❤️ With love and gratitude,
Lizetta
