Dear Friends and Compassionate Supporters,

I’m Mike Morgan, and this is a photo of my beloved children. We recently faced an unimaginable tragedy: my son, a vibrant young man filled with promise, suffered an aortic dissection and tragically passed away during surgery. Our nightmare unfolded when we learned that he had Marfan's Syndrome, a genetic condition that can lead to life-threatening heart complications, often without warning. Despite annual medical check-ups, this condition went undetected until it was too late.

In the wake of this heartache, my focus has shifted to ensuring that my daughters, who may also have this condition, receive the necessary medical evaluations. Unfortunately, they currently lack health insurance, which means that all of these vital tests—including scans, EKGs, x-rays, CT scans, and future genetic testing and heart monitoring—are coming directly out of pocket. The financial burden has been overwhelming; in just three weeks, we have accrued over $15,000 in medical bills. This figure does not include the additional bills for the anesthesiologist and critical care from the emergency room that have recently arrived, bringing our expenses to nearly $30,000.

I refuse to let financial strain prevent me from safeguarding my daughters’ futures. Early detection and intervention for Marfan's Syndrome can make all the difference, allowing those affected to live long, full lives with appropriate medication and lifestyle adjustments.
