Hey all!
My name is Preston Crowder, born and raised in Nashville, TN. As many of you know, I have always had a passion for the theater and performing. I've spent most of my life building my skills in these areas and gearing my education towards my passions. I graduated from Oberlin College in 2016 with my B.F.A. in Theater. Although receiving education in this country has been hard for me, I have always been blessed to be able to pursue my passion for theater on a collegiate level. My passion for education and theater led me to be a first-generation college student in my family. Now, as I continue my journey, I have been blessed with the opportunity to study for my MFA at my dream school, The New School of Drama in New York, for playwriting. I've always dreamt of getting my Masters and becoming a first-generation graduate student within my family! While I am beyond excited and thrilled for this opportunity, funding this next step has been arduous to say the least. So I have decided to call on the support of my friends, family, and community. For majority of my life, my education was made possible by those who believed in me and saw my potential. Right now is no different! I'm doing everything in my power to make sure I secure my spot at The New School, but the financial burdens of this transition are proving quite overwhelming. So, I say all of that to say, I need your help! I created this campaign to hopefully help bring a sense of ease to this entire process. I need money to help fund travel expenses, the cost of books, and most importantly, securing a solid living situation. My current move date is August 13th. If you can find in your heart to donate, I would be forever grateful. If you can't donate, please like and share for others who may be able to. If you can't donate monetarily, I also am accepting all advice about NY, graduate school, or just how to deal with major changes. All help is welcomed and deeply appreciated.
