Prestigious Trip to Dallas Cup

This GoFundMe page is to help support our son, Isaac, and his dream of playing soccer at the highest levels, including his biggest dream of playing professional soccer!!
Isaac plays soccer for the Antelope Valley Futbol Club (AVFC) on their U13 boys team. He has been identified as one of the “best of the best” within the club and has been invited to join the top U13 boys to represent AVFC at the prestigious Dr Pepper Dallas Cup in Dallas, TX during the Week of March 25th thru April 1st 2018. This is a huge tournament and a great way for Isaac to get visibility both collegiately and internationally.
Here is some information about the tournament:
The Dr Pepper Dallas Cup is the most prestigious youth soccer tournament in the United States and it is widely regarded as one of the most competitive in the world. Dallas Cup was founded by the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club in 1980 as a way for the club to return the friendship shown to their teams that had traveled throughout Europe.
Held every spring during Easter Week, the invitation-only Dallas Cup selects the best teams out of the hundreds of qualified applications the tournament receives each year. Although there have been several iterations over the years to the format, Dallas Cup is currently comprised of seven age groups from U-13 through U-17, U-19 and the U-19 Gordon Jago Super Group. The tournament traditionally consists of approximately 40% international teams, 40% state-side teams and 20% Dallas area teams. Each year more than 100,000 spectators watch teams from all over the world participating in intense games where only the best return home with the Dallas Cup Champion’s prize, the coveted Boot and Ball trophy.
The long list of players that have gone on to have professional and international careers is an impressive one. A partial list includes: David Beckham, Clint Dempsey, Chicharito, Landon Donovan, Raul, Michael Bradley, Wayne Rooney, Kleberson, Hakeem Olajuwon,Giovani dos Santos, and Brian McBride. In fact, Dallas Cup alumni have gone on to play in over 430 World Cup matches.
Dr Pepper Dallas Cup has built a reputation of ensuring high quality competition on the field and extraordinary Dallas hospitality off it. This recipe for success helps attract the best teams from across the globe. Teams from Germany, England and Mexico laid the foundation in Dallas Cup I, and the tournament has grown to include teams and referees from over 47 states and 100 countries covering 6 continents. Dallas Cup has had the honor of hosting world premier teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona, Arsenal, Club America, AC Milan, Sao Paulo, Ajax, Paris St. Germain, and Boca Juniors.
In order to attract the best teams from around the world, it is important to have the best referees. The tournament has partnered with referee academies throughout the world enabling Dallas Cup to attract referees with pedigrees that include matches for the English Premier League, Major League Soccer, UEFA Tournaments and even World Cup games. In 2013, in addition to numerous young up-and-coming officials from across the globe, Dallas Cup had thirty-three FIFA referees officiate the tournament.
There a lot of costs associated with giving Isaac the opportunity to play in this prestigious tournament which is the reason we are asking for any and all support from our friends and family. Our costs include things like airfare, car rental, gas, hotel, meal money, uniform fees, registration fees, entry fee money, plus the unexpected costs that always seem to pop up. We were just made aware of the invitation for this tournament which didn’t allow us to be able to plan for this as well as we would have liked to. As Isaac’s parents we greatly appreciate any and all donations you can make to our son.
Isaac would be honored to play in this tournament for all of his friends and family that has helped support his passion and love for the game.
