Press-ups for male suicide prevention

My name's Ethan, I am 16 years old currently studying my first year of A-Levels.
I am in the fortunate position to be at a school where we are encouraged to talk about our mental health and have recently been inspired by a teacher who has helped many people within our school community through their struggles

Did you know that in 2019, 5691 men committed suicide. This number is an increase from 2018, 2017 and further years prior. More needs to be done.

Today, there are so many stigmas attached with men talking about their mental health and not being able to talk about this compounds the problem, and in the worst of cases, leads to suicides. I feel that by raising awareness and starting the conversation, we can better support those who may be struggling. It is important that they know they're not alone.

With the theme of November/movember among us, I am aiming to raise £1 for each man who committed suicide last year by completing 5691 press-ups in the month of November (just under 190 press-ups a day).

All money raised will be donated to the Samaritans charity. The charity not only acts during the time of crisis but also in the prevention of the crisis.

Suicide affects not only the person who loses their life, but often their loved ones as well. By donating to this cause you will potentially be saving lives, friends and families.

All donations no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated
