Tianna is my beautiful 22 year old niece, who despite hurdle after hurdle has continued to take life head on and fight for her past, present and future! On April 22, 2020 Tianna was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) and since that day she has had substantial physical, emotional, social, and financial ramifications. Tianna was thrust into a whirlwind of diagnostic testing, invasive procedures, and complicated treatments with very little warning or opportunity to assimilate to her circumstances, yet she keeps putting one foot in front of the other and continues to strive for a healthier future ahead.

 

2022 has the prospect of a stem cell transplant that Tianna is working towards with hopes of being able to have a fresh start at this wonderful life, unfortunately the byproduct of her preparation for the transplant is the devastating reality that IV chemotherapy and radiation will drastically diminish her chances of staying fertile. Her insurance provider won't cover the cost of the fertility program which will enable her to retrieve, freeze, and store her eggs for future hopes of being able carry her own biological child in the years to come. Her very harsh reality is that without proper funding she is going to have to let go of that chapter of her life.
