I am raising funds to support a project documenting San Francisco’s gay culture and history. My goal is to conduct ongoing research and preserve the stories of those who lived in San Francisco during the 1960’s-1990’s and survived the AIDS crisis. HIV and AIDS claimed the lives of a large portion of our gay male population in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and with their passing, much of our history was lost.
Your donations will help me gather, document, and share these important stories. Funds will be used for project supplies such as printing materials, website access, software subscriptions, webcam, lighting, microphones, and other tools needed to record, store, and edit information. By supporting this project, you are helping to ensure that the experiences and history of our community are preserved for future generations to learn, study, and understand.
I believe it’s essential to create an audiovisual and written archive of those who survived the AIDS crisis, so their stories are not forgotten. Your support means so much to me and to everyone whose history deserves to be remembered. Thank you for helping me make this project possible. And thank you on behalf of all those who have shared their history with us!
