I’m sharing this because my family is at an important crossroads and because this home matters deeply to the way we live, care for one another, and move forward. After a major life transition, I’m in the process of refinancing our home to make the mortgage sustainable long-term. I am required to refinance the home solely into my name. In order to qualify on a single income, I need to reduce the loan balance. This isn’t about holding onto a house out of sentiment — it’s about preserving a home that truly works for our family and allows us to remain stable, focused, and secure.
This home is especially important for my daughter Emma. Consistency, routine, and familiar surroundings are essential for her wellbeing, and this space provides exactly that. It’s where daily challenges are navigated with patience, progress is nurtured, and my children experience calm, structure, and a sense of safety. Remaining here also allows us to stay close to our support network and near my work, a balance that’s critical as I manage employment alongside caregiving responsibilities. This home enables that balance in a way few other options realistically could.
I’m deeply grateful for the support our community has shown us in the past, particularly during periods when medical care placed unexpected strain on our family. That generosity made a lasting difference, and it’s something I carry with me.
Right now, my focus is on a clear, practical goal: reducing the refinance amount so our mortgage is affordable moving forward. The fundraising goal reflects the reduction needed to qualify for a sustainable payment on one income. I am taking every responsible step available to me, and additional support will help ensure we can remain in a home that provides stability, continuity, and the environment my children need to thrive. Without this reduction, I will not qualify for a sustainable payment, and selling our home may become the only option.
If you feel inclined to support us—whether by donating, sharing this page, or simply holding our family in your thoughts and prayers, thank you. Your kindness helps preserve more than a place to live; it helps protect a foundation that allows our family to keep moving forward with strength and hope.
