Club 727 has always been more than just a nightclub.

We are a sanctuary, a community hub, and a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community — especially here in San Antonio, where spaces like ours are rare and vital. For over 30 years, our doors have been open to all walks of life. We’ve been a refuge for those seeking belonging, a celebration spot for love and liberation, and a dance floor where you didn’t need to explain who you were or who you loved.

We’ve hosted drag royalty, Tejano legends, and underground icons. We’ve watched strangers become chosen family under our lights. We’ve stood strong through decades of change, gentrification, political shifts, and personal loss — always with the same mission: to give our people a space to be free, safe, and fully seen.

But now, our legacy is at risk.

Due to fire marshal mandates, we are required to install a new sprinkler and firewall system to bring the building up to code. These upgrades are non-negotiable and urgent. Without them, Club 727 could face temporary closure — or worse, a permanent shutdown. We’re doing everything in our power to raise the funds, but the cost is overwhelming for a grassroots, community-based venue like ours.
