Down Home Music is now a non-profit. As of May 2, 2025, it will be known as Down Home Music Foundation. As a result, we will be in a transition period, switching over to a smaller space within our existing store. We will continue to honor the legacy of Down Home's founder, Chris Strachwitz, by providing recorded access to blues, Cajun, zydeco, gospel, jazz, Tejano/Norteño, old-time, and other tradition-based styles of music. We also plan to provide an outlet for new and local artists to both perform and sell merchandise. Modern and new musical styles will be accommodated as well.
