Old Mine Road Song Recording Project. Bring History to Life.
Hi, my name is D'Anne, aka (Deb) D'Anne Music. I’m an original songwriter/musician with a passion for storytelling, history, and song that evokes emotions and moves through our heart and soul.
I’m embarking on adding additional songs to a recording project near and dear to my heart and yours. This new collection is a continuation of my popular song Old Mine Road, which is the oldest engineered road in the United States. The song Old Mine Road is currently streaming on all popular networks, YouTube, Spotify, Amazon etc.
The historical significance is astounding and dovetailed with the foundation of our country, encompassing the Delaware River and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area, as well as the entire region. As many of you know, I've been deeply inspired by the land and the people that came before, and have uniquely written songs to immortalize what we all experience and not forget. This place holds a powerful past—full of voices, struggles, and moments that shaped who we are today. I believe those stories deserve to be heard—not just in museums, plaques, or books—but through original music that reaches hearts across generations. Some of the lyrics came from first hand conversations I've had with those of you who lived in this area, before the land was lost to emminent domain. You may recognize the people, the stories and certainly the timelines that are as accurate as possible.
My song Old Mine Road, was recorded in 2022. It's based on significant research and factual information. It was very rewarding to put musical significance to this important history, but impossible to fully tell the stories in one song. So I've continued to write. Research. Talk to former residents. As a result of continued conversations and learning as much about the region as possible, I've written two additional songs to add to the stories that are now ready to add to this musical legacy. The result is a unique blend historical truth with poetic depth and melody, yet is historically accurate as possible.
This is my gift and I'm excited to finally share with you. However, you may not be aware that the music industry has not been kind financially to musicians, especially original songwriters. Streaming services have replaced physical CD's, and pay fractions of a penny on each stream! However the technology and effort to record, produce, hire musicians and distribute has increased exponentially. So although our passions propel us to continue to record and share our music, we are faced with financial hurdles to make that possible and no way to recoup, aside from live performances which only scratch the surface.
