For 23 years, Harlem World Magazine has been the heartbeat of Harlem—documenting its people, culture, victories, and stories that mainstream media so often overlooks. Now, we’re inviting you to help ensure Harlem’s voice continues to be heard for generations to come, not just as a magazine, but as a cultural‑and‑business hub rooted in the community.

We’re raising funds to support the next chapter of Harlem World Magazine: launching our first app, preserving decades of legacy content and Tisdale Studio, expanding journalism training for all ages, deepening community outreach, improving operations from top to bottom, and creating digital and live events that bring Harlem together.

This campaign will also help us pivot into a membership/subscribers and sponsorship model, built on our 12 thousand subscribers and 1.5 million annual readers, with a long‑term strategy inspired by modern publishing houses—but grounded in Harlem’s culture, not Madison Avenue.

Your support will fund:

  • Tech upgrades: new CMS, SEO, mobile experience, a dedicated app, AI‑enhanced publishing tools, and subscription infrastructure.

  • Archival preservation: digitizing and safeguarding 23 years of legacy archives (video, photographs and historical features).

  • Journalism training: workshops and tools for local creators, all ages from emerging writers and photographers.

  • Events and community programs: the HWM A.C.E. Summit, Salons, and curated experiences that connect artists, entrepreneurs, and activists that are live and digital.

  • Danny Tisdale Studio: Tisdale Studio as the creative home of Harlem World Magazine, protecting its archives, 18 to 80 programming, and magnifying their voices.

Every contribution helps us continue independent journalism rooted in Harlem, offered at no cost to readers. Publisher and artist Daniel Tisdale developed his independent publishing roots under his uncle founder and publisher Charles Tisdale of the Jackson Advocate and his mentor artist and publisher Andy Warhol at Interview Magazine and Andy Warhol Studios (where Tisdale worked) and the The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts—a lineage that continues in Harlem World today.

Tisdale Studio is now the creative and institutional home behind Harlem World Magazine, much like the Warhol Foundation anchors Interview magazine. Just as Interview grew out of Andy Warhol’s creative universe, Harlem World is an extension of Danny Tisdale’s decades in publishing, visual storytelling, and cultural education. This new structure means the magazine, its archives, youth programs, and editorial voice are held and protected by Tisdale Studio, so Harlem World can keep serving the community as an independent, artist‑driven platform.

Harlem has always changed the world through art, activism, music, literature, business, and culture. From the Harlem Renaissance to today’s generation of creators and leaders, this community has never stopped shaping history.

When you support Harlem World Magazine, you are investing in a platform that believes Harlem’s stories matter.

We invite you to join us in this mission. Together, we can make a lasting impact and celebrate the living legacy of Harlem. Harlem’s story deserves to be told—not just remembered.

We cannot do it alone.
