Our community needs help to preserve our historic cemetery! Friendship Church Cemetery on County Road 23 in Haleyville, Alabama was recently added to the official list of historic cemeteries by the Alabama Historical Commission. The cemetery is particularly worthy of preservation and appreciation, and therefore deserving of this special recognition.
Family and community members are excited for our next steps to preserve this historic site. We need funds to:
- Pay for a plaque and sign for the cemetery
- Funds for attorney filing and other fees to establish a non-profit cemetery association
- Grounds keeping and restoration
Your help is needed now as the monuments are deteriorating. Maintaining and restoring the cemetery is more than family members nearby can sustain. Each and every donation, regardless of amount, is deeply appreciated!!
