The healthcare crisis in Venezuela is getting worse every single day.
A country I grew up in and once saw as prosperous, beautiful, and forward thinking has been destroyed by socialism and communism. As Venezuela collapses, children are dying at an alarming rate from lack of nutrition and proper medicine.
As a healthcare professional and pharmacist in the United States I want to do what I can to ease some of the pain and frustrations of parents and children in Venezuela that hope and pray they will see another day and that they will be able to find and afford life-saving medications.
The goal of this fundraiser is simple. My aunt, Adelaida Matos, a pharmacist who was in the public health service in Venezuela is going to bring several paper prescriptions for live saving medications to treat diseases including but not limited to:
*High Blood Pressure
*Diabetes Mellitus and high glucose
* Seizures
*Antibiotics for bronchitis, pneumonia, and urinary tract infections, etc.
*Antivirals
*Antiparasites
*Autoimmune diseases and Lupus
*Asthma/steroids/expectorants/antihistamines
*Blood thinners for stroke and heart arrhythmias
*Antacids/Probiotics/Medications for IBS and Ulcerative Colitis
*Thyroid Medications
*Glaucoma
*Parkinson's and Alzheimer's
*Depression and Anxiety
*Anemia/Malnutrition
The list goes on.
We will take these prescriptions to a local Pharmacy in Pembroke Pines called Pharm-Aid that is operated and run by Venezuelan pharmacists and employees who accept International prescriptions.
We will package and deliver these to individual patients using K Export - a service that uses planes to deliver packages in less than a week to Venezuela. My aunt will use her contacts to make sure everything is properly delivered as well as personally going herself. The majority of donations will be going to a children's hospital by the name of "Fundacion Patronato del Hospital de Ninos J.M. de Los Rios" and Fundacion San Alfonso Maria De Ligorio" on their 20th Anniversary. Both of these locations have individuals we trust to give the medications directly to children and families in need and at the hospital.
100% of the funds raised will go to the purchase, packaging, sending, and delivering of these medications to families and especially children in need.
