Preparing the Hover Home for Foster Care
Donation protected
Our foster care journey started 12 years ago while praying over our newborn son. Over the past 12 years, God has continually placed foster care on our hearts while answering our prayers to prepare us for this journey. As we've continued our home study process, we've realized that we need help making our home functional and comfortable for a family of 5. All raised funds will be used to prepare our home for our new bonus child. Any funds that exceed our needs will be donated to Bloom in Fayetteville. Thank you for your support and for sharing our joy with us!
We've had some questions from our friends and family so I thought I'd answer them.
1. Why fostering? Andy and I believe that foster care is the gospel in action. God creates a space for us in heaven and we want to provide a safe space of belonging for a child in need. We want to care for those negatively affected by our world's broken, manmade systems.
2. What ages? We are open to welcoming children ages 11-18. We want to come alongside teens, understand their goals, and help launch them into adulthood.
3. What do your boys think? Kael and Cameron have been part of the process and have had a voice. We are a tight family and have talked/prayed continuously over this journey.
4. What do you specifically need? Firstly, we need prayers. Prayers to continue to prepare our hearts and homes for this joyful adventure. As we've continued the home study process, we've realized that the changes to our house are more costly than anticipated. Some items we need are a 8x10 shed, additional kitchen cabinets for storage, dining room chairs, security safe, etc.
5. What happens if you raise more funds than you need? We are confident that God will provide what we need but that He's also exceedingly generous. Therefore, we'll only use what's needed and will donate unused funds to Bloom Our Youth, an agency that serves Foster families in our area.
