Hi All,

Sravanthi (34 yr old), is a relative of Sujatha (my wife) and resides in India. Recently, Sravanthi became a first time mother and under tough health conditions delivered twin boys on October 18th 2021. The boys were born preterm and both were placed in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). The preterm delivery was caused due to Eclampsia (seizures caused due to high blood pressure) in her 28th week pregnancy.

Twin 1 birth weight was 970 grams (1.984 lbs) and Twin 2 birth weight was 1000 grams (2.205 lbs). In the NICU Twin 1 was gaining weight sufficiently and was discharged to go home after a month. But unfortunately the story was not the same for Twin 2.

On Day 13, Twin boy 2 had breathing issues. Gas and fluid accumulation in abdomen. X-rays showed Pneumatosis (presence of gas in large Intestine). Within 24 hrs, Pediatric surgeon performed Ileal resection with Ileostomy (an opening in the belly abdominal wall). He is not gaining weight much and is currently in an extended post operative care in the NICU with the aid of a ventilator. Going further he will be needing few more surgeries and daily care (~3 months stay) in NICU.

Till date, they have spent ~$30,000 dollars (20 lakhs in indian currency). Sravanthi is a home maker and her husband is a clerk in a private bank and he makes $500 per month. They have spent all their savings and cannot afford the expenses for additional stay and surgeries (for Twin 2) that are required. Sujatha and I are organizing this fund raiser to aid the parents financially with the medical costs for Twin 2. We specifically request your help for the little fighter's required extended stay in the NICU and get through these tough times and have the twins reunited.
