A gynecologist from the Gaza Strip, pregnant with triplets, needs assistance to give birth in Egypt.
My sister, Dr. Mona Mousa, mother of three children, is pregnant with triplets and is currently in 24 SWW in the Gaza Strip. The triplet pregnancy was unplanned, with a statistical probability of less than 0.03%. A triplet pregnancy carries many risks, such as premature birth and venous thromboembolism (VTE). Therefore, a prophylactic cervical cerclage had to be performed on her in Gaza Strip, without any anesthesia, with the aim of prolonging the pregnancy.
The likelihood of a triplet pregnancy reaching beyond the 37th week is extremely rare. It is more likely that the three babies will be born between the 30th and 32nd weeks of pregnancy. Therefore, she urgently needs a Level 1 Perinatal Center.
The travel expenses and all costs for delivery (cesarean section, Perinatal Center 1 - obstetrics, anesthesia, and neonatology), the initial equipment for the three babies, amount to a total of 19,000 euros. In Egypt, there is no health insurance, so she has to pay for everything herself.
On April 16, 2024, I underwent a cesarean section. Fortunately, the operation was uncomplicated. One of my children had to spend several days in the hospital due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. My daily life after giving birth was unimaginably demanding. With a wound that had not fully healed, I had to care for 6 children. I barely got 5 hours of sleep per night. My 72-year-old mother cannot manage the children alone, so I had to hire a babysitter.
I am a trained specialist in obstetrics and gynecology with over 10 years of professional experience. To build a better future for myself and my children, I want to resume my career. I would like to work in an English-speaking country. To achieve this, I first need to attend a language school and pass either the IELTS or TOEFL exam with a good score. Secondly, I need to retake many medical exams in Egypt. Finally, many of my documents need to be certified. These processes are expected to cost at least $12,000.
The current cost of living for myself, my children, and my mother in Egypt is approximately $600 per month. I must stay in Egypt for at least one year, which amounts to about 7200 euros.
I am determined to work again and earn my own income. Without your support, I cannot achieve my goals.
