Precious Plastic Dublin - Stage 1

Hello

Thank you for visiting our page!

We all know about the scourge of plastic waste and the environmental damage caused by it, yet many people don’t know the full story of plastic recycling in Ireland, or what they can practically do about it. For example, which plastics can be (economically) recycled, which get dumped or incinerated and what resources are used to ship plastic waste to the point of recycling?

We are - Precious Plastic Dublin - is a volunteer collective working on practical solutions to reduce plastic waste and pollution in Dublin. We started our journey in March 2019 and moving towards the main goal: to build recycling machines and open a public workshop in Dublin.

This will allow bringing plastic recycling closer to the local community, enabling the public to transform their own plastic packaging into valuable products, while demonstrating the potential value of plastic waste.

Watch the video how it works ↓↓↓

The whole recycling process requires the following machines:
1. Shredder (we have already this machine done, only a motor left to connect)
2. Extrusion
3. Injection
4. Compression

As part of the 'Precious Plastic’ global movement started in the Netherlands in 2013, we have access to all needed 45 blueprints and instructions on how to build machines on a very low cost.

A few metal parts we are taking from skip/metal scrap for free, assembling the machines would be done by our volunteers for free, but some of the parts as metal sheets and motor, and laser cutting services need to be purchased.

That's why we need your little help!

You would definitely benefit from having the Precious Plastic in Dublin if you:

→ Are sick of plastic
→ Care about the environment
→ Want to contribute to the practical solution of the plastic problem
→ Feel bad about buying plastic
→ Want to learn how to reduce plastic

Or if you:

→ Want to learn how to use plastic wisely
→ Want to help your kids/friends/families/co-workers become more eco-friendly
→ Want to make sure that your household plastic is being really recycled
→ Want to become a part of a global movement reducing plastic waste
→ Or if you don't understand why everyone went nuts about this plastic, talking about it all the time and why it is a problem.

Our plan has 3 main stages.

Stage 1
We are raising money to build a shredder and an extrusion machine in order to show the general public what  Precious Plastic is capable of.

Stage 2
We will find permanent premises to open a Precious Plastic workshop in Dublin.

Stage 3 (long-term goal)
We will expand and help to launch workshops all around Ireland.

If you donate you would help Precious Plastic Dublin to happen sooner because we will build the machines. Once we build machines and secure premises (Stage 2 completed) you will be able to:

✓ To visit the workshop for educational seminars
✓ To bring your household plastic items to be repurposed into valuable items as soap holders, fruit bowls, lamps, park benches etc.
✓ To buy goods from second-hand/recycled plastic
✓ To keep plastic locally and reduce CO2 emissions from transporting plastic abroad
✓ Be 100% sure that your plastic is upcycled
✓ To join a community of like-minded people

Please, click DONATE NOW and contribute to building machines for a workshop.

Please, donate your 5/10/20/35/50/100 euros or any other sum which seems fair enough for you. Let's make it work in Dublin!
