Hello ,
My name is Rachel. I am a Health Care Aide working in seniors care in British Columbia, Canada. My husband, Thomas is currently living in the Philippines and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma. This is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that has affected his bile ducts and liver. We were supposed to be reunited in Canada. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has prevented this from happening .
Thomas was not feeling well and decided to check himself in at the hospital in November 2021. He was admitted for an upper gastrointestinal bleed initially. He had an endoscopy and CT scan done. A tumor was found on his liver. A biopsy was done and the tumor was found to be malignant. Surgeons also found that the cancer has spread to his entire liver. His surgeons stated that Thomas is not a candidate for surgical removal of this tumor because of it's size and the risk of losing his life during surgery is very high.
He now requires aggressive chemotherapy treatment starting December 21, 2021. This type of treatment is very expensive in the Philippines. I am doing the best I can right now by sending money back home as often as I can. However, it is not enough. I am working full time, but it's still not enough to meet the financial requirement to start Thomas's chemotherapy treatment.
I care for those in need every single day. I love my what I do and it brings me great joy. I never thought I would be in a situation where I would have to ask for help to care for my loved one. This is very difficult for us. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Your donation will be going towards Thomas's chemotherapy, medications, care and hospital fees.
I thank you so much for your time and generosity.
May God Bless you hundred folds in return!
