The sudden impact of a cancer diagnosis is freightening both emotionally and the unexpected finanical burden that accompanies it.
Maggie Benjamin is an energetic, funny, loving, brave and strong young lady who is suffering from a sudden diagnosis of cancer. On January 05 2016 Maggie started off her New Year at Credit Valley Hospital after she continued to experience pain and redness in her breast during breastfeeding. This started in October of 2015 and continued to progress. As you all may be aware she went to see a surgeon back In November of 2015 who misdiagnosed it with relation to breastfeeding. After undergoing numerous and extensive testing, on January 14, 2016 she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive mammary carcinoma. On January 29,2016 she started one of her many treatments of chemotherapy. She will be having 6 treatments followed by double mastectomy and then 17 weeks of daily radiation. Her first chemo treatment didn't go very well which required Maggie to be hospitalized for a few days. Her next Chemotherapy will be on March 4, 2016. We pray this one will go more smoothly then the first. Maggie and her family's world has been blurred into a world wind of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. This has not only taken an emotional toll on them but a financial one as well. We are reaching out to the community for support and contributions to help her loving family in this emotionally taxing ordeal. Maggie's family is faced with many unplanned expenses which include medical expenses not covered as she also didn't have medical drug insurance. Her fiancé was forced to take time off without pay to look after there 2 year old daughter Aiyanna and help tend to Maggie also. This whole unexpected situation has been extremely stressful for the family and has put them in financial debt. Maggie will require many new items that are costly to help her during her treatment and recovery. As you all may already know Maggie has always been an independent young women who never relied on anyone for help. I have known her for over 10 years and she has always been a hard working girl always trying to be successful and reach her goals in life. The one thing now that is hurting her the most is not being able to be there for her daughter as much as she would love to. This has taken a toll on her in many ways. She has a heart of gold and is always ready and willing to help others. I ask if you could please help with any donation to help during this difficult time. Any donation or contribution that can be made will be greatly appreciated, please help spread the word and help us be successful and reach our goal. Please pray for Maggie in her fight to be cancer-free and get through this difficult time.
Thanks so much ❤️❤️
