Praying Sweet Selah into Spontaneous Remission

Donation protected

Meet sweet little Selah Naomi Davis, a seven pound warrior, the one out of every five million babies born with neonatal leukemia. Selah has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), caused by a genetic mutation, and it's extremely rare. Less than 1% of childhood leukemia cases begin in the womb. Internationally, the five year survival for AML is estimated at around 51% and five year survival event-free is estimated around 44%. Selah has a significant fight ahead of her.

But we are not without hope! God has been doing incredible things for sweet Selah since she was born on February 9th, 2023, touching and healing her in ways that doctors have not expected and could not have predicted. We invite you to pray with her parents, Sarah and Antoine Davis, for "spontaneous remission" for Selah, a rare feature associated with a handful of cases of AML, something so rare that many professionals don't believe it happens. Selah Naomi's health is miraculously trending in that direction and it's all we can do to shout it from the rooftops and put it before you all to buoy their little family, in prayer and through channeling resources their way.

Selah was born with lesions, lumps that look like bruises on her body- on her arm, leg, back, torso, face, and all over her scalp. These lesions were one of the first indications that all was not well with Selah's health when she was born and whisked off in a mobile NICU to Cincinnati Children's Hospital so teams of doctors could diagnose and treat her. Selah's lesions are diminishing and disappearing! Her scalp is almost clear, her cheek and face look incredible, and many lesions are completely gone while others have shrunk drastically. Typically these lesions would not disappear until after chemotherapy, but hers began to go away spontaneously, before she began treatment. As a result, Selah is undergoing a "gentle chemotherapy" for 7 days (currently on day 3 out of 7), to help her liver fight off the cancer cells in it.

With neonatal leukemia, the leukemia is found in the liver (whereas it originates in the bone marrow if the leukemia developed after birth). Selah had a bone marrow biopsy and no cancer was found in her bone marrow! While it's possible that the cancer in her liver hadn't made it to the marrow yet or that they did not get enough marrow, it's also possible and seeming like the leukemia cells remain only in her liver!

Selah's parents, Sarah and Antoine, are standing by her in this battle, advocating for her and praying for her. They continue to pray for complete, sustained spontaneous remission and event-free survival. It is our pleasure to come alongside them as they make sacrifices to do the absolute best they can for their beloved baby. While Sarah is on paid leave from her job until July, Antoine was supposed to return to work full-time very soon. He will likely be taking unpaid leave from his job, as they navigate Selah Naomi undergoing chemotherapy and being in the NICU and caring for their oldest daughter Zion Grace, who is 2. The Ronald MacDonald House has given their family a room and provides some of their meals. If Selah is in the hospital for over a month, which is likely, she will be eligible to receive additional financial assistance with some of her medical care. The Lord is providing for their family! We would like to help provide a cushion for medical expenses, lost wages, gas, meals and snacks, and misc expenses.

Selah will be closely monitored for years. We recognize that their family is in this marathon battle and marathon prayer request.

Above all, please pray. If you feel led to give, please do. However you feel inclined to support them, we are eager to provide channels to do that. All funds raised will go to Antoine and Sarah.
