Hi all, thank you for viewing Patty's story:
For those of you who do not know, Patty Relyea, one of my dearest friends, is battling cancer. Patty is a devoted mother of two beautiful girls, a grandmother of one beautiful little girl, a loving caring daughter and a love you unconditionally friend.
Patty is battling a rare form of cancer known as UPS (Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma). This is a rare type of cancer that begins mostly in the soft tissues of the body. Soft tissues connect, support and surround other body structures. UPS usally occurs in the arms or legs. Patty's cancer is located in her leg. She is currently having chemo treatments and has just completed her second round of treatment. These treatments are taking place every two weeks. She spends 5 days in the hospital receiving two different chemo's that run 24 hours per day. It is expected that she may need 6 rounds of chemo, possibly radiation and then surgery.
The gas to and from Roswell in Buffalo, NY, co-pays and bills that are not covered by insurance are building up. I created this page to help Patty with the mounting costs she has so that she is able to stay focused on herself and her healing. She is fighting the fight of her life right now. We want her not to have added stress, like how will she will fill her gas tank to get to treatments, or how she will pay doctor's bills that are not covered.
I am asking for help from all of her friend and family so that we can help Patty fight the hardest she has ever had to fight. If you are unable to help her finacially can you please just say a healing prayer for her. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping and praying for this beautiful friend of mine.

This is more of Patty's life story since 2020, coming from Patty:
2020 was rough for many and myself included.
Jan 2020 total hip replacement
Aug 2020 reconstructive back surgery (#7)
Also my real struggle in 2020 was trying to keep Brooke healthy and clear from COVID because she is being tested for brain surgery, which could give better control of the Epilepsy.
So December comes and we got the surgeon call… Brooke is eligible! Great when… 2021
Jump to Feb 2021… Brooke first brain surgery went well!
March 2021… Oh the best day ever I became a Grandma
April 2021… Brooke final brain surgery! Some wonderful news to share… she has not had a gran.mal seizure since! This is not a guarantee but we will take it!!
April 23, 2021… Bringing Brooke home from the hospital this is when my world started to turn upside down. I ask her please look at my leg the back of it hurts… “nothing there mom” okay.
Seen the primary doctor twice, ER visit, my leg is getting bigger, hurts and hobbling, can’t sit, hurts to drive a car.
So now I’m having hip pain again! Our neighbor (retired teacher) said to me… you need to go get your hip looked at.
I called the next day…doctor got me in right way… within in a week of seeing my hip doctor he had a very concerned diagnosis the mass is the size of a nerf football!
Looks like CANCER!
Seen a sports surgeon and oncologist which work together.
The cancer was aggressive within months… we need to be aggressive now!
So the plan:
2 different Chemo's running 24hrs a day… 5 days in the hospital every 2 weeks. Could be 6 rounds of chemo, maybe radiation and surgery!
