Hello friends and family, it's Sonada here, I am here to help my friends raise money while their 14 year old son Kaiden is in the hospital. July 25th kaiden went to work with family cutting trees for firewood and that morning had a traumatic accident. His dominant hand was smashed in between the tree trunk and the wood splitter, he was took by ambulance to Enloe ER and from there life flighted to UCD medical where he had to have a 9 hour arterial reconstructive surgery to save his thumb. He then had to stay there for a week while under their medical care to promote Venus circulation to the thumb and hand. Mom kelly and dad will have been taking turns driving back and forth, sleepless nights, trying to work all while trying to be support to their son 2 hours out of town. Just food, parking, and gas has been a burden. They finally got to go home for a couple weeks, caring for him at home doing wound care and struggling to help him fight through the pain. Just a week ago kaiden has been expressing how his hand does not feel better, he is in excruciating pain and they noticed it was inflamed and not healing well. They took him back to Enloe where they got him cleaned up but things seemed to have turned for the worst, his thumb and hand is suffering severe nerve damage and infection. He had to be transported back to UCD where he is on IV antibiotics and working on a care plan to help save his hand and thumb. They are scared the surgery has failed, possible dry gangrene and nerve damage. This has been a struggle not only physically and emotionally for my friends but financially. Dad is currently on disability awaiting a back surgery himself and mom trying to be out of town all while having to work is putting a strain on paying the bills. If you could find it in your hearts to send any kind of help would be so appreciated. They would never ask for anything and are doing their best. Any bit can help so much to help them while they have to be out of town, this has been going on almost a month now and I couldn't imagine how hard this must be for them. They would be forever grateful and appreciative. We love you kaiden and we are all thinking of you while praying for healing and for God to take your pain. Thank you all for taking your time to read their story. If you cannot afford to help it would be a blessing to help share this around so we could get them the support they need.
