Praying for a Miracle; Battling Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Clarisse and as some of you already know, my beautiful mom, Lisa, was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer last December. The prognosis of one year was not what any of us expected. This harsh reality has torn my family’s hearts. We never thought we would be here, but we will continue to support her battle against cancer and for her life. Since we do not know how much time we will have with Lisa, we want to fill every second we get with her with love, fun, and good memories.
She has beat breast cancer in the past and we didn’t think this would happen again. The current cancer she has is a rare form of gastric cancer from a gene mutation that can currently not be treated with surgery, the only option as of right now is to continue chemo and immunotherapy treatments. She has been doing chemo and immunotherapy since last December (2022). It’s very rare for a healthy regular sized female who has rarely drank and never smoked a day in her life to develop this gastric cancer, especially at her age of 57. She is frequently in pain and has problems keeping her weight and eating. As she continues to do chemo I also have her using some traditional medicine approaches. If the chemo stops working, which we hope it does not, she will most likely be put into a trial and we will try to find any other options to help her.
We have been traveling so often this year to make sure she gets to live her life to the fullest. She has not been working since December doing what she loved to do, teach. She loved helping kids learn and she was so happy in the classroom. She now spends a lot of time at home with my brothers (19 and 16), myself (22) my dad, and friends that come over to keep company. We have spent a lot money on trips, treatment, and all sorts of medical so we have been struggling financially.
With all of this in mind I want to raise as much money as possible for her. Her wishes for Christmas and her life are to continue seeing the world and traveling, seeing the Northern Lights, and do as many active things as possible with her family and friends while she can. We do not have enough money ourselves to fulfill this for her, so I set this fund up to accomplish as much as possible.
She has been so strong throughout this journey and is still doing well right now. With her known great strength, she has been battling while still dancing everywhere she goes and always bringing positivity to every room she walks in. We are so glad that she is where she is at right now with the circumstances we were given. Her last scan which was about two months ago came back with good news with no active signs of growing cancer cells.
We pray and hope that this news will continue to come and even better, a miracle. Everyone has taken her lead and surrounded her with so much love, help, and positivity and that is what keeps us all going!
If you can possibly help make this time as stress free and as joyful as possible for my family and mother, all donations will be gratefully appreciated! Please share this with as many people that can you can.
Please keep Lisa and my family in your thoughts and prayers❤️
