Seven year old Sutton Smith developed a small grade fever Sept 24. He was taken to his pediatrician who tested for the flu, which came back negative.  His fever went down after taking Ibuprofen but spiked later in the week along with severe pain in his right leg. Sutton was rushed to the emergency room @ LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis where doctors identified he had massive infections throughout his right leg. Surgery was performed immediately to remove and stop the infection. Unfortunately the infection spread up and down the right side of his body requiring multiple surgery's and incisions. Infectious Disease and Surgeons have concluded Sutton contracted Group A Strep (same type of infection you get with Strep throat but instead in his body). The doctors are in front of the infection and antibiotics are working but little Sutton has a long way to go. He is still in the ICU and will be at LeBonheur Children's Hospital for several weeks if not more. Medical bills will be significant after countless surgeries, medication + a lengthy stay @ LeBonheur. Anything you can do to financially support the Smith family during this time would be appreciated and welcomed.
