Every parent/sibling/child/spouse’s worst nightmare became reality for the Flannigan and Nieves family the morning of Saturday, May 19th when Erin didn’t wake. After a lot of hard work and dedication performed by Long Branch’s finest first responders, Erin was transported to Monmouth Medical Center. She has been assisted with life support and under the care of the exceptional medical staff of the Intensive Care Unit since. Erin had gone some time without oxygen, which caused significant damage to her brain, kidneys, lungs and heart. Upon her arrival to the ICU, she has undergone numerous procedures in effort to get her organs back to a functioning state.
Erin (Flannigan) Nieves, 26 years old, has been a lifelong resident of the Long Branch/West Long Branch area. She is loved by her husband, Cristino, their two beautiful sons, Cristino (4) and Carmelo (2), her parents, Jane and Thomas, her five siblings, Lauren, Mackenzie, Kathleen, Kellie and Thomas, her mother-in-law, Estie, sister-in-law, Nicole, as well as many, many more including her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

This family has always been very active and contributing to this community. This family has touched the lives of countless people, and it’s now time for the community to come together for them. They have been dealing with an unimaginable amount of pain while their precious loved one fights this journey. Erin is not expected to be leaving Monmouth Medical Center as quickly as we’d like, causing medical bills to grow higher and higher and understandably, Erin’s loved ones have been out of work to stay at her bedside. We ask for any contributions, in hopes it will be able to relieve some of the financial stress this may cause to Erin’s loved ones.

Most importantly, we ask for everyone and anyone who may be reading this to say a prayer for Erin and her family during this difficult time.
Keep fighting, Erin ♥
