On Friday, July 1st, Emily Hudson of Dinwiddie, VA was involved in a head-on collision that resulted in extensive trauma to her body. Emily suffers from two broken legs, damage to her ankles and heels, a broken arm, and severe cuts in numerous places, including open wounds caused by broken bones. Emily is currently a Level 1 Trauma patient at MCV Medical Center in Richmond, VA and will require a tremendous amount of surgeries and months of rehab to follow as she learns to walk again. Her newlywed husband, Keith Hudson, Jr., and their many friends and family members anxiously await Emily’s return home. Prior to her return home, the house will require a multitude of renovations, including the following: a wheelchair ramp from the drive way to the porch and an additional ramp to the entry, widening of the houses interior and exterior doorways, and a complete bathroom remodel to include a wheelchair accessible toilet, shower, and sink for Emily. As an effect of Emily’s accident, she will be required to take an indefinite leave from work and school. While this is a “GoFundMe,” monetary donations are not all we are seeking. Continued prayers, get-well-soon cards, kind words and friendship, any volunteers to aid us in the reconstruction of the house, building supplies, and fundraiser ideas are all greatly appreciated.
