On February 14th, 2017, Dylan Saylors was hit by a car and care flighted to Cook's Children where he is currently being treated in the ICU. Dylan has suffered from lacerations on his back, a broken leg, broken arm, shattered ankle, concussion, and a skull fracture. We have not received results of the scans, but the doctors believe that because his vitals have been good and he has been talking, there is likely no internal bleeding going on. We are also waiting to receive the results of the CT to determine the severity of the fracture, but we are hopeful about that as well. Dylan will have to have surgery either tomorrow or this coming Thursday to repair his ankle with pins. This is going to be a very long, hard recovery. Dylan's mother, Laila, takes care of her three children alongside her fiancé, Matt, and as you can imagine with the children being 12, 13, and 14, and all playing as many sports and being in as many activities as they can- the financial situation is difficult. The last thing that Laila or Matt or his immediate family need to be stressing about is how to take care of Dylan's medical bills ; they need to be focusing on being with him and making sure that he is getting better. This will mean taking time off of work. I ask that everyone keep this family in your prayers and if you are able to help out at all, remember that every little bit helps.
