Todays update July 1st,2023

Unfortunately, this is the last update we will be able to give about Alma.

So, this last week Alma had some major setbacks. Last weekend, she had another major stroke at 4:44 AM that took out a major part of her brain that controls everything. This week was super hard because she fought so hard to beat this terrible infection. The family had to make a tough decision to remove everything because she was brain-dead. So, everyone gathered and prayed together as they removed the tubes on June 30th, 2023, at 4:44 pm. She continued and was breathing on her own all thru the night. The 4:44 is so significant because it was a special saying that Tommy and Alma had together about love and being together for 4 better, 4 worse & 4 ever.

So, Tommy decided to take Faith to see Alma so she could see her mom one more time today July 1st. Faith prayed for Mom, got to see her again, and waved goodbye. They are walking down the hall leaving and Tommy gets a notification to come back because Alma took her last breath at 9:26 am.

The family will need help with the funeral expenses and continued bills that have piled up over the last 5 months. They have a long road ahead and could use everyone's support and prayers.

Through all this Alma asked to carry on her legacy. #almaslegacy Over the Celebration of Life for Alma completes we will share more of her vision. Through this Tommy has promised to share her Legacy:

1. The legacy of time is Precious and can’t be given back.

2. Live every second like it’s your Last and show your family Love every day.

Alma update:

Today Drs took her In to monitor fluid in the brain after letting her body control treatment. Fluid levels were slightly elevated but good progress. Starting spasm treatments slowly now that her body is getting stronger. Treatment to continue the aneurysm to contain is productive. (Still, a major aneurysm is present and a big concern). Therapy has been going slow and steady and will continue. This fight is still far from over and recovery is slow and steady. Please continue to pray for every day is a constant struggle and milestone. Her will to fight continues and her ability to overcome obstacles is being shown but most of all Her true Faith in God and his promises.

They are putting the tube back in to monitor the fluids in her brain and spinal cord.

Over the last several weeks, Alma has gone through many surgeries and still has a long battle ahead. She went into the hospital eight weeks ago with severe migraine headaches that later proved to be fungal meningitis. The doctors started treating her for fluid found in her brain and spinal cord. While being treated with antibiotics and different methods to reduce the swelling, she was making good progress and preparing to go home. Unfortunately, the next morning, she suffered two strokes.

Now several weeks and many surgeries later, she is still fighting hard. The final surgery will remove an aneurysm in her brain, and then the next step will be therapy and rehabilitation in Houston. Alma’s transport flight to Houston is going to cost a minimum of $5,000. Her family is staying strong with faith, but they need help with the mounting medical bills.
