Hi everyone,

My name is Genesis, and my husband Manuel and I are currently expecting our first child, a baby boy. Unfortunately, we’ve run into some complications and are reaching out for both prayers and help with medical expenses.

In 2021, I was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis and have experienced a few flare-ups since then. In 2023, I went through a severe six-month flare that led to malignant PRES, causing seizures and swelling in my brain that nearly took my life. (There’s a post on my Instagram that goes into detail about that time.) By God’s grace, it has now been two years with no signs of a flare-up.

I’ve faced many health challenges in the past, but God has healed me time and time again, performing miracle after miracle in our lives. Now, we are believing for another.

On Saturday, October 11th, we went to the emergency room due to severe heartburn that I was simply trying to get relief from. What started as a routine visit quickly turned into something much more serious, leading to a hospital transfer for better care for both myself and our baby.

Doctors weren’t sure if my body was experiencing a lupus flare or the early stages of preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome. After several days of testing, they confirmed that I am not in a lupus flare (praise God!), but they also discovered that both my life and our baby’s life could be at risk, with delivery being the only medical option.

In addition, I tested positive for antiphospholipid syndrome, an autoimmune disorder that increases the risk of blood clots and can lead to serious complications such as strokes or miscarriage. Our baby boy is also measuring small, and we are praying daily for his continued growth and strength.

As you can imagine, this news has completely turned our world upside down. But even in the middle of uncertainty, God has not changed and neither has our faith. Our baby boy is alive and well in my womb, and we are fighting for his life as long as the Lord allows us to.

Since delivery is not an option right now, I will likely need to remain in the hospital indefinitely. We don’t know what the future holds, but we are standing firm in our faith. So far, all of my numbers have been improving, and we are believing they will continue to, along with our baby’s growth.
