Prayers & Support for Sweet JJ’s Fight

On August 1st, 2025, my sweet nephew JJ suffered a seizure in the middle of the night. While in the hospital, he experienced over 30 more seizures and had to be placed on a ventilator. He was urgently flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, enduring two more seizures during the flight.

Upon arrival, JJ was immediately connected to multiple machines and started on heavy medications and antibiotics. He has no prior history of seizures, and the medical team is working tirelessly to find answers and determine what’s happening to him.

This has been a heartbreaking and terrifying time for our family. JJ’s mom and dad are by his side around the clock, while also caring for their two other children at home. The hospital is nearly three hours away from where they live, and the time away from work has caused a significant loss of income.

In addition to this immediate crisis, JJ’s recovery will continue long after he leaves the hospital. He will need at least four months of physical therapy several times a week to help him walk again, as well as ongoing neurologist appointments and speech therapy. This will require frequent travel and may involve costs that insurance will not fully cover — including any special equipment he might need. We want to make sure his family can focus on his healing without the added stress of these expenses.
