Our mom, Kimberly Siefken Miller, had a pulmonary embolism which caused her heart and lungs to stop on 12/02/25.

Great River hospital resuscitated her after 30 minutes of CPR and airlifted her to Iowa City, where she was then placed on ECMO. 

As of 12/08/25 she was able to come off ECMO successfully, but her MRI brain scan showed severe brain damage due to not having proper oxygen during her arrest.

She is currently in the palliative care unit receiving pain and anxiety medications to help ease her passing on her own terms.
