Hello everyone, we are Patrick and Olivia Garcia. As many of you know, Olivia is currently 22 weeks pregnant with our baby boy. This pregnancy has been filled with excitement, hope, and dreams for our child — but recently, our world changed in a way we never expected. At a routine appointment, we were told that our baby has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and life-threatening heart condition. His left heart — the part that pumps blood to the body — did not develop properly. This means that shortly after birth, he will need his first open-heart surgery, followed by two more major heart surgeries in early childhood.
Despite this diagnosis, our baby boy is growing beautifully, has no genetic issues, and everything else about him looks healthy. We believe with all our hearts that God placed him in our lives for a reason, and that He will walk with us every step of the way. We are choosing faith over fear as we prepare for the journey ahead. As we look toward delivery and the surgeries that will follow, we are facing a long road of time off work, travel to and from the hospital, meals, gas, and parking during long ICU stays, multiple specialist appointments, extended recovery trips, and the emotional weight that comes with living in and out of the hospital.
We created this GoFundMe because we know we cannot walk this road alone. Your support — through prayer, sharing, or donating — means more than we can ever express. We are humbly asking for help to relieve some of the financial burden so we can focus fully on our baby and his healing. We believe that God already knows this child by name. Even though we haven’t chosen his yet, we know He is holding him close. We are trusting that God will guide the surgeons’ hands, protect his little heart, and strengthen ours as a family.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey with us. Please keep our baby boy in your prayers as we prepare for his arrival and the battles ahead. Every donation, every prayer, and every share is a blessing.
With love and faith,
Patrick & Olivia Garcia
