**UPDATE on Samantha Dunbar**
David said in Psalm 27:13-14 "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord!
This morning as I think about the journey God has us on, my heart ponders these words that David penned long ago....
I know that God is faithful who promised and that He is making a way for Samantha. She is home away from home with John and I and our children. We count it our privilege to be home to a miracle and with God's promise many more miracles. Samantha is doing great. She is recovering and her joy has never left. My children are loving her ability to rest and play games with them. And...doubtless it is good for her heart! She is increasing daily in strength in her body. She is adjusting well to the medications that are helping her body prepare for the next surgery that should be in 2-3 weeks. We are waiting on the doctors to arrange the convergence of her medical team with the specialist from Houston-M.D. Anderson hospital. We are asking prayer for: 1. That God's perfect will be lined up with the doctor's plans..and that they would have HIS wisdom as the wisdom of man is no help to us.
2. That Samantha would tolerate the increases of medication that are necessary to prepare her for the next surgery.
3. That God would do a miracle and remove this tumor allowing her perfect and beautiful heart to remain beating strongly in her chest. (Not an artificial heart or a donor-though we are thankful for all provision).
Thank you for your prayers and support. Love you all!!
I HAVE CHANGED THE AMOUNT WE ARE HOPING TO RAISE FOR SAMANTHA. The outlook for recovery after her second surgery is 3-6 months. She does have insurance now..PRAISE GOD! So, all support through GO FUND ME will be to pay copays and meds that are not covered and her living expenses so that her apartment and everything will be there for her when she steps back into God's new plan for her life! Please prayerfully consider giving now or later as her healing is a JOURNEY for now. Thanks, Patty
As most of you know, our beloved Samantha was told yesterday, that she has a tumor on her heart. The doctor has told us that he believes it is cancer. The final answer to whether it is or not, should be given on Monday. After many tests at St. Thomas in Nasville, they are moving quickly to bring hope and healing. She will see a surgeon on June 3rd to confirm cancer or not, and to let us know how to proceed.
Our first concern is for healing. (Please PRAY!) Next, we would like the next couple of months to be as stress free as possible. Samantha's work is her only income. She will be limited in how much she can work for a while. After leaving a job to pursue her God dream of having a salon to do what she loves (making people beautiful), she currently has no insurance. Her savings has been depleted by her investment in this dream. She has had to close the shop and move her things out in order to cut expenses.
Samantha is a blessing to me, my family, and all who know her. Please pray about giving and encouraging her during this time of healing. My heart's desire would be that the body of Christ alleviate this burden, allowing her to have a stress free time to heal. This fund is for her rent, utilities, and living expenses. Thank you for whatever part you play in her recovery! Thank you most of all for prayers and standing in faith that our God is the "God of Miracles".
