Prayers for the whisler family

Donation protected

I want to share a story about someone who means the world to me, my brother in law Mathew whisler. Mathew is 37 years old and has a loving family of 5, his beautiful wife Jessica and 3 amazing children, Asher and Avie who are 5 and Isla who is 2.
As some of you may have noticed over the last few weeks, posts about needing prayers, hope and strength have been flooding Facebook. Unfortunately,  in August 2017, Matt was diagnosed with cancer. He had to go through multiple blood tests and biopsies before the devestating news of melanoma was uncovered.
This diagnosis completely turned the whisler family upside down. They had to make some of the toughest decisions I’m sure no one ever wants to make. Matt is a fighter and was ready to take this news head on. Ultimately the family choose to go to Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York which is well known for being one of the best hospitals for treating melanoma. Since this discovery Matt’s diagnosis has progressed to stage 4.
Because this hopital was chosen, this meant long painful trips multiple times a week,  for doctors appointments, sometimes simply just blood work, and all scans and treatment. Both  Matt and Jess had to miss multiple days of work which meant paying many countless babysitters to help with the kids at night when they would’nt get home until 8-9 o’clock at night.  After these long days and nights, the defeated and worn out mom and dad would still someone have to make time to grocery shop, maintain the house and yard while at the same time keeping a smile on their face as they tried (and succeeded) to keep normalcy in the house for the kids sake. During this process he became weaker and weaker but still did everything he possible could to try and help his family in any way he could, despite his agonizing relentless pain.
This has left the whisler family with multiple medical bills, expensive rides to the hospital, and major losses with not being able to work.
Matt is definitely someone I know who would never give up and is strong as hell. He has been through so much already but still some how try’s to maintain a positive attitude and is always looking out for his family’s best interest.
Please try to respect the whisler family during this very crucial and difficult time by not contacting them directly. Please feel free to reach out to me or my other sister with questions or simply post directly on the Facebook post so Matt and Jess can read them together when time allows. I can also provide their address if needed.
