UPDATE 12/21/2021: It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Chad Michael Ockert (02/12/1974 to 12/20/2021). Surrounded by his loving wife Elizabeth and sons Edison (18) and Gibson (17), Chad took his place alongside our Lord God in Heaven following his long battle against Covid-19. A devote christian, Chad was a proud member of the Merson Church congregation in Goble, MI and will be remembered as a giant man, with his huge heart, warm hugs, kind voice and smile that could brighten any room. He was lovingly devoted to his wife, children and family which included Elizabeth's children Samantha and Kyle.
By the grace of God both Elizabeth and Gibson were able to make full recoveries from their Covid diagnosis and were able to be by Chad's side while he battled Covid. We want to publicly thank each and every person that has prayed for the Ockert Family and for those who have provided financial assistance during Chad's fight. We intend to keep this GoFundMe open as we shift our goals to assist in paying funeral expenses and to assist Chad's Family as they navigate through this time of mourning. The funeral will be handled by O'Laughlin Funeral Home in Coleman, MI with more information to be available soon.
Thank you again for your prayers and thoughts. May God Bless you all.

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I asking for your help by raising money for my beloved friends Chad & Elizabeth Ockert who are battling the Coronavirus.
Chad began showing symptoms on November 13, 2021 along with his wife, Elizabeth Ockert and one of his two sons, Gibson. Unfortunately on November 18, 2021 Chad's symptoms worsened and he was emergency transferred via paramedics and admitted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo due to complications to Covid and surprising diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes. When admitted Chad's oxygen level was at 45% and he was immediately placed on a ventilator. Unfortunately his battle is far from over as the doctors have fought to keep Chad's blood sugar levels, blood pressure and blood oxygen percentages under control. His sedation has also been a huge problem and Chad's blood pressure has continually plummeted and limited out during his scheduled body rotations to help keep fluid out of his lungs. To make matters worse he has also contracted a secondary lung infection that has been causing problems.
Chad is the head of the household and main income for his family. With him incapacitated in the hospital, Elizabeth and Chad's sons are without him physically and financially. Elizabeth has a very limited disability income as she was born with Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) and suffers from auto immune disease. I am requesting donations to assist the Ockert's with paying their monthly bills and providing groceries to the family that include the family dog and two newly rescued cats. Please help me to ease their financial hardship through go fund me and and please add this family to your prayers as we enter the Holidays without solid answers for Chad's recovery.
Wishing you all Happy Holidays and God Bless.
