Hello, my name is DeNiess, and I’m the sister of Terri Westfall.

On Monday, July 14, 2025, Terri suffered a traumatic brain injury while riding her horse. She is currently in the ICU at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. While her condition is stable and doctors are hopeful for a full recovery, the road ahead will be long and challenging.

Recovery from a brain injury takes time—and therapy will be a major part of that journey. Doctors are working to begin therapy even while she remains in the ICU. Terri will require continued care, specialized rehabilitation, and support well beyond her hospital stay.

Terri is a devoted mother to two young boys, Brady and Cody, who are set to begin school on August 6. As you can imagine, this has been a deeply emotional and uncertain time for the entire family.
