Prayers for Maria: Overcome Her Injuries

At 12 pm 4/11 in Othello WA, my Mom was involved in a fatal car accident with friends and put her in the ICU along with another friend. She fractured her skull and several bones on her spine. And her right arm is unresponsive and can’t speak to this moment.

My Mom’s name is Maria G. Mendoza, raised in Mexico and immigrated at a young age. She has 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters, She is a single mother of two.

We are praying for our Mom to respond and hopefully wake up and recover peacefully. We will use these funds to buy groceries, pay for surgery and needs for our family.

We ask for prayers for our family.

Update: She was taken into surgery at 5:00am and we were informed that her right arm muscle is unresponsive and will be contacting a specialist to see if we are going to recover the muscle or remove it.

At 7:00pm they took her and did some study’s on her head, We were told that everything was fine but they were making sure she wouldn’t have any seizure in the future.

Update: At around 10am they took her tube out because she was breathing fine on her own

Update: She woke up at around 1pm they sat her up and try to see if she can eat by herself. She is responsive when asked to move her left arm and her toes. She is trying to speak but is unable to. They tried to put a feeding tube through her nose into her stomach but it failed and would have to wait until the next day to try again

Update: The level of ICU was lowered from 10 to 9. This morning they attempted to reintroduce the feeding tube and had a positive result.

A las 12 p. m. del 11 de abril en Othello, Washington, mi madre sufrió un accidente automovilístico fatal con amigos. Un pasajero falleció y fue ingresada en la ICU junto con otro amigo. Se fracturó el cráneo y varios huesos de la columna. Su brazo derecho no responde y no puede hablar en este momento.

Mi mamá se llama María G. Mendoza. Creció en México y emigró de joven. Tiene cinco hijos: tres varones y dos mujeres. Es madre soltera de dos.

Oramos para que nuestra mamá reaccione y, con suerte, despierte y se recupere en paz. Usaremos estos fondos para comprar alimentos, pagar la cirugía y cubrir las necesidades de nuestra familia.

Actualización: La llevaron a cirugía a las 5:00 a. m. y nos informaron que el músculo de su brazo derecho no responde y que contactaremos a un especialista para ver si vamos a recuperar el músculo o extirparlo.

A las 7:00pm la llevaron y le hicieron unos estudios en la cabeza, nos dijeron que todo estaba bien pero que se estaban asegurando de que no tuviera ninguna convulsión en el futuro.

Actualización: Alrededor de las 10 am le quitaron el tubo porque respiraba bien por sí sola.

Actualización: Se despertó alrededor de la 1 p. m. La incorporaron y trataron de ver si podía comer sola. Responde cuando se le pide que mueva el brazo izquierdo y los dedos del pie. Intenta hablar, pero no puede. Intentaron introducirle una sonda de alimentación por la nariz hasta el estómago, pero no funcionó y tendrían que esperar hasta el día siguiente para volver a intentarlo.

Actualización: El nivel de ICU se redujo de 10 a 9. Esta mañana intentaron reintroducir la sonda de alimentación y tuvieron un resultado positivo.
