Lisa's intestines burst in October of 2015.  Finally resulting in her losing 95% of her intestines. She then recieved an intestinal Transplant June of 2016 in Miami (3 hours away from home) She coded in her husband's arms and her transplant was removed due to trauma to the body. She has been in this hospital for over a year with no discharge in sight. Both Lisa and Joe have lost their home and jobs. Joe sleeps by her bedside trying to help her get through this but they have lost almost everything and barely scrape by to pay their phones and storage plus have money to feed Joe.
